Craft beer has no constraints on specific processes and ingredients, giving brewers great room for creativity. What we advocate is refinement and innovation, with tremendous innovation and creativity in raw materials, brewing methods, and even beer consumption concepts and marketing methods. There are abundant raw materials for brewing, including malt, hops, and yeast. Various other raw materials have been used in beer brewing, and beer is aged in oak barrels after storage. Various spices that have not been used in history are also used, and even fruits, vegetables, and fruits can be used. Taking American IPA as an example, there are many ways to use hops alone.
1. American IPA
Americans use local malt and hops to brew American IPA, making it the world's most popular beer again. In terms of craftsmanship, dry hops are used to enhance the exuberant aroma of hops. The unique orange fragrance of American hops effectively masks the shortcomings of local malt.
2. Double IPA
In pursuit of cooler flavors, hop has been transformed from an auxiliary ingredient to the most important component, with a heavier taste, higher alcohol content, and richer floral aroma.
3. Dry Hopping with hops
Mainly used for the brewing of IPA, to emphasize the aroma of hops, the brewing technique involves adding hops again or multiple times during fermentation. Dry hops can maximize the aroma of hops, usually using dried hop buds or hop granules.
4. Wet infusion of hops
Fresh hops can be added during boiling or fermentation during the brewing process. Fresh hops are difficult to preserve and transport, so they can only be produced near the hop's origin and season.
